Astronomers at the University of Baghdad, innovate again in a scientific and global demonstration set up by the College of Science at the University of Baghdad, to monitor the phenomenon of a lunar eclipse total on Saturday, 10/12/2011, in the College of Science, the presence of Prof. Dr. Salih Mahdi Ali Dean of the College of Science, Dr.Harith Ibraheem the dean assistant for scientific affairs, the dean assistant for Administrative Affairs Dr. Faisal Ghazi, and elite of professionals. The total eclipse of the moon were monitoring for five hours, and (56) minutes. It was seen in Iraq for three, and a half where it was supposed to be seen in time (4:55 minutes), but due to bad weather conditions, it had not been seen well. Department of astronomy made mass demonstration monitoring using astronomical telescopes for monitoring. Several television channels (Iraqi - Alforat – Alahed, Summaria, etc.) attended. This event was held in collaboration with the Directorate of scientific care in the Ministry of Youth and Sports within the mechanism of joint cooperation.
