Within the sequence activities that are listed in the cultural season program for Biology Department/College of Science, Miss Hind Abdul Jabbar Ahmed [(M.Sc. ) specialist in Pollution Field] delivered the academic titled lecture :

                                                   Slipped (Prolapsed) Disc

Abstract:

Slipped Disc often causes severe lower back pain. The disc often presses on a nerve root which can cause pain and other symptoms in a leg. In most cases, the symptoms ease off gradually over several weeks. The usual advice is to do normal activities as much as possible. Painkillers may help. Physical treatments such as spinal manipulation may also help. Surgery may be an option if the symptoms persist, this case affects both women and men, but the ratio of affection for men  is more twice than women.

It usually results from making a sudden movement even it is a simple like coughing, sneezing, and rotating the upper part of the body in a critical situation, this causes the occurrence of slipped disc.

Most persons who face this case are smokers, bus drivers, truckers, officials who sit at their offices for a long period of time, fat individuals, athletes of weightlift, besides old people, and because of the passage of time the disc will be weak as a result of aging.
